This new Lab will be built in a unique location. The Lab’s location is on top of one building, and between two taller hospital sections. This location poses many interesting construction methods. The existing roof and side building must also be modified to accept the new addition on top of, and between the current VA section. The majority of items will also have to crane lift onto the roof and be built in place while maintaining the operations of all adjacent areas.
Work with this new Lab Addition began with roof demo, relocation of HVAC, and new structural steel. From there, new concrete flooring and ties will be completed to all adjacent sections for the multi-level new structure. After all decking, support, and connections are in place, the new building will begin to take shape with framing and outer shell work. The inside portion will encompass all interior requirements of a new building and many areas of advanced medical equipment.
